After 2 weeks away on holiday, I got home and this pretty little box greeted me. This month, its all about beauty DIY's. Upon examining its contents I noticed one of them is a repeat product (Dermalogica Kit). I've got nothing to complain really since I loved the first one they sent me. I also recieved a body scrub and an anti-blemish cream.
October's Glossy Pick of the month without any doubt goes to Yves Rocher Moisturizing Cream Lipstick! This sweetheart normally hits the shelves at £14.99, pretty high for a lipstick, but it's money well spent. Of course I got it free with this month's glossybox, so it helped with the holiday blues. It applies very well and it's very pigmented - one swipe and you're lips are completely covered. I happen to recieve this in 106 Mauve, which is a rusty red - Perfect for Autumn! I'm gonna be wearing this all through winter as well since it's amazing at moisturizing.
Overall, I'm happy with my box this month. I was contemplating about cancelling my subscription but I guess I'm still looking forward to next month's box, so I'm gonna see how it goes.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Review
I've only been using this sweetheart for a couple of weeks but I just have to write a review on how amazing it works! I picked this up at Tesco's for £9.99 and honestly, its the best foundation I have ever brought!
What it claims:
70% more radiance and flawless complexion for up to 16 hours. Its exquisite glide-on formula blends into skin for a flawless, yet natural finish. And... its good for the skin: 8 hours moisture, lets skin breathe and dermatologically tested.
I have been on the lookout for a potential HG foundation for as long as I remember - and spent a few £££ along the way. After reading a few reviews about this product I thought I'd give it a go since it wasn't very pricey anyway. I'm so glad I did! It does almost everything I ever wanted from a foundation.
First, the color. This matches my skin tone perfectly! I've always had to rely on foundations that 'almost' match my skin color, but obviously it either makes my face look ashy or too dark. This one though, is just perfect. It also gives a nice dewy glow which brightens up my overall skin tone. It's so lightweight that sometimes I forget I'm wearing foundation.
Because it's gel based it doesn't cake on my slightly oily skin except around my nose bridge where my glasses rest on. I haven't had any reaction or breakout due to it yet so I'm keeping my fingers cross that it stays like that. The ingredients sounds yummy as well. It contains fruits extracts including Apricot, Melon, Apple and also Ginger to boost your skin. As expected from the ingredients, this smells heavenly and very fresh! I also love the fact that it comes in a pump-bottle for hygiene reasons.
I can't express how happy I am with this little bottle. I don't think I ever have to look for another foundation again!
Have you met your HG Foundation yet?
Love lots,
AJ

Lancome Hypnose and Oscillation Mascaras
Lancome Oscillation - Take your lashes to a whole new level with this revolutionary vibrating mascara that delivers 7,000 oscillations per minute to re-create the application technique of a makeup artist. This lash-transforming powerhouse does it all: lengthens, separates and multiplies with just the press of a button (Lancome). RRP: £21.00
I had high hopes for this product because it's been featured in Michelle Phan's Videos. In there, she mentioned they are great for lifting up lashes and that it's lightweight and dries up quickly. After reading a few more reviews, I decided to give this a try. My verdict? - drugstore quality! It doesn't stand up to any of those claims at all - for me at least. I found that it took a while to dry (compared to Benefit They're Real!) which equals to messy eyes if you're not careful. It's formulation isn't anything fancy either - it's very similar to Rimmel's Lash Accelerator which is 1/4 of the price.

Lengthening wise, its actually quite good. Two coats of this results in my ideal length and they don't clump together. Also, when dry, it's also quite lightweight and it doesn't make my flimsy lashes stiff, instead they're quite soft - i love touching them.

Without any doubt, this is my HG "curl" mascara! It is by far the best mascara I have ever tried - and believe me, I have tried many - from MUA to Lancome, I have a box of mascaras that I had to abandon. Let me start by describing my lashes. I have short, sparse, downward-pointing lashes that will not obey any type of eyelash curlers. After trying different ways of curling them and using mascaras that claim to hold the curl, I have almost given up until I found his little gem...
