Lancome Genefique Box Set (with Free items) from Boots

The first time I tried Genefique was last year when a sales lady gave me a sample with my Lancome purchase. I absolutely loved it but I couldn't get myself to fork out £55 for a 40ml bottle at the time. However, a couple of months ago Lancome had a special offer that I couldn't resist. So here we are, after a few months of using these products, I am finally ready to share my thoughts and opinions about them.

Genefique Youth Activating Serum (£55)

I love the consistency of this serum, its fragrance-free, thin/watery and absorbs into your skin very well. You only need one drop to massage into your entire face including your neck. I can honestly say that it did make my skin quite soft and less dull. However, after religiously using this for at least 3 months, I have not noticed any major difference in my skin tone. My pores are still as visible as they were and some of my pigmentations are still noticable. I've heard a lot of people claiming this serum brightened and significantly improved their skin tone. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself. Perhaps my skin is quite stuborn? or perhaps this product is a miss for me? I'm quite disappointed because when I tried this a year ago (7 day trial) my skin showed such amazing results. I really want this product to work on me so I'm going to increase the amount I'm using from now until I run out. If that works, I will post an update to tell you guys about it. For now though, I don't think I'm going to repurchase this product again.

After a week of using this religiously every night (in conjuction with the Genifique Serum), unfortunately, I didn't notice any difference to my skin tone. It did feel quite nice on my skin and it has a watery texture that absorbs quickly. I may have to use this longer to see the results, but after quite a disappointing purchase with the Genifique Serum, I am definitely not going to be running straight to another Lancome counter for Visionnare any time soon.


Genifique Yeux (Eye Cream)

I'm actually quite happy with this little pot. I have used this on and off since I got the set, but I can already see a difference in my undereye area. The skin under my eyes are a lot plumper and my dark circles are starting to lighten. I'm not quite giving it 4 stars because I don't like the consistency. The cream is quite thick so it feels a bit heavy, especially for an undereye cream. Also, if you like to dab on your eye cream before using an undereye concealer, then this product is definitely not for you. Because of it's thick consistency, I found it really difficult to blend my concealer and when I do manage to blend it in, it doesn't take long for it to cake. Will I be repurchasing this again? Hm, maybe not, for now, I think I'm sticking to my Clinique All About Eyes.
