After 2 weeks away on holiday, I got home and this pretty little box greeted me. This month, its all about beauty DIY's. Upon examining its contents I noticed one of them is a repeat product (Dermalogica Kit). I've got nothing to complain really since I loved the first one they sent me. I also recieved a body scrub and an anti-blemish cream.
October's Glossy Pick of the month without any doubt goes to Yves Rocher Moisturizing Cream Lipstick! This sweetheart normally hits the shelves at £14.99, pretty high for a lipstick, but it's money well spent. Of course I got it free with this month's glossybox, so it helped with the holiday blues. It applies very well and it's very pigmented - one swipe and you're lips are completely covered. I happen to recieve this in 106 Mauve, which is a rusty red - Perfect for Autumn! I'm gonna be wearing this all through winter as well since it's amazing at moisturizing.
Overall, I'm happy with my box this month. I was contemplating about cancelling my subscription but I guess I'm still looking forward to next month's box, so I'm gonna see how it goes.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Review
I've only been using this sweetheart for a couple of weeks but I just have to write a review on how amazing it works! I picked this up at Tesco's for £9.99 and honestly, its the best foundation I have ever brought!
What it claims:
70% more radiance and flawless complexion for up to 16 hours. Its exquisite glide-on formula blends into skin for a flawless, yet natural finish. And... its good for the skin: 8 hours moisture, lets skin breathe and dermatologically tested.
I have been on the lookout for a potential HG foundation for as long as I remember - and spent a few £££ along the way. After reading a few reviews about this product I thought I'd give it a go since it wasn't very pricey anyway. I'm so glad I did! It does almost everything I ever wanted from a foundation.
First, the color. This matches my skin tone perfectly! I've always had to rely on foundations that 'almost' match my skin color, but obviously it either makes my face look ashy or too dark. This one though, is just perfect. It also gives a nice dewy glow which brightens up my overall skin tone. It's so lightweight that sometimes I forget I'm wearing foundation.
Because it's gel based it doesn't cake on my slightly oily skin except around my nose bridge where my glasses rest on. I haven't had any reaction or breakout due to it yet so I'm keeping my fingers cross that it stays like that. The ingredients sounds yummy as well. It contains fruits extracts including Apricot, Melon, Apple and also Ginger to boost your skin. As expected from the ingredients, this smells heavenly and very fresh! I also love the fact that it comes in a pump-bottle for hygiene reasons.
I can't express how happy I am with this little bottle. I don't think I ever have to look for another foundation again!
Have you met your HG Foundation yet?
Love lots,
AJ

Lancome Hypnose and Oscillation Mascaras
Lancome Oscillation - Take your lashes to a whole new level with this revolutionary vibrating mascara that delivers 7,000 oscillations per minute to re-create the application technique of a makeup artist. This lash-transforming powerhouse does it all: lengthens, separates and multiplies with just the press of a button (Lancome). RRP: £21.00
I had high hopes for this product because it's been featured in Michelle Phan's Videos. In there, she mentioned they are great for lifting up lashes and that it's lightweight and dries up quickly. After reading a few more reviews, I decided to give this a try. My verdict? - drugstore quality! It doesn't stand up to any of those claims at all - for me at least. I found that it took a while to dry (compared to Benefit They're Real!) which equals to messy eyes if you're not careful. It's formulation isn't anything fancy either - it's very similar to Rimmel's Lash Accelerator which is 1/4 of the price.
Right (Oscillation only) Left (Hypnose + Oscillation) |
Lengthening wise, its actually quite good. Two coats of this results in my ideal length and they don't clump together. Also, when dry, it's also quite lightweight and it doesn't make my flimsy lashes stiff, instead they're quite soft - i love touching them.
Benefit They're Real Mascara Review
What it claims to do:
UK’s No.1 best-selling premium mascara for lashes beyond belief. They’re real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts, and separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out and includes a specially designed brush to reveal lashes you never knew you had! they’re real…honest! (benefitcosmetics.co.uk) RRP: £18.50

Without any doubt, this is my HG "curl" mascara! It is by far the best mascara I have ever tried - and believe me, I have tried many - from MUA to Lancome, I have a box of mascaras that I had to abandon. Let me start by describing my lashes. I have short, sparse, downward-pointing lashes that will not obey any type of eyelash curlers. After trying different ways of curling them and using mascaras that claim to hold the curl, I have almost given up until I found his little gem...

*New* Rurouni Kenshin Kinema-ban
Yes! The Kenshin-gumi is back! After more than 10 years, they're back! I can't wait for Chapter 2's release. Ugh, I wish I live in America, or better yet, Japan, so I can get a copy of the latest release as soon as it's out. For now, I have to patiently wait until they release a free translated scan.
Rurouni Kenshin belongs to Nobuhiro Watsuki. Hail Watsuki-sensei! |
I heard a lot of people complaining about Kenshin's new scarf - personally, I think its quite cute! The story line essentially remains the same, although the events maybe slightly different to the original. Also, I think Watsuki-sensei injected a higher dose of romance in this version as you can see below. The original RK wouldn't have that scene right there - I guess it was too 'Shounen'.
Oh and the art-style is amazing!!!! I can't help but think about this style everytime I sketch nowadays, you may all find my new artworks have a bit of Watsuki flavour to them. In conclusion, I still am, and always will be, a Rurouni Kenshin fangirl. I was overjoyed when I heard Warner Bros Japan were filming a live-action movie, now Shounen Jump Alpha is running a new RK series. What more can we ask for, eh?
Again, I do not own Rurouni Kenshin. It belongs to the almighty Watsuki-sensei. |

Tantra Loading Screen Contest
This piece took me about 3 weeks to complete - on and off. It features our Guild (Dying.for.ur.Love) at Tantra.ph. That's SharpBeat (front left), OoOAEJIEOoO (front right - me!) and our much loved in-game friends. I adore this game, and I love drawing our characters - unfortunately the original PH servers are all down so I'm now playing AION! Thinking of sketching my character over there too!!

HONEY BUNNY || Free Website Template
I used to run a website where I put up free website templates for anyone to download. I never really finished it but I managed to design and code a few templates, so here's one of them!
I have no idea why I decided to go for this title (Honey Bunny) - but hopefully it's suitable for someone out there. The layout is only designed for static websites, but if you're good enough to re-code and import it to work with wordpress or similar, then please go ahead. However, please do not remove any credits from the layout.
For the curious ones out there, here's the link to my old, old - and I stress - OLD website.
Have fun!
I'd love to see this template working, so please send us a link to your site or blog if you decide to use this ♥

Revlon Colorburst Lippy
What can I say first? I LOVE REVLON products! And these two are at the top of my fave list.
Revlon Colorbust Lipbutter and Revlon Colorburst Lipstick |
The Colorburst Lipstick #075 Peach (right) was a free gift with my order from Boots a few months ago and I guess it's true when they say 'the best things come for free'. The color is fantastic and the pigmentation is perfect. I guess the coverage can be classed as a sheer to medium but it's undoubtably buildable.
The other one is the Colorburst Lip Butter #025 in Peach Parfait (left). I actually purchased the Lip Butter before in Sweet Tart but forgot to took a photo of it with these two - it's currently hiding with my stuff at work.
That aside, I'm not actually that excited with the Lip Butter shades I currently own. They're good quality and very moisturising but the tone were too cool for my skin. I'm thinking of buying either Macaroon, Tutti Fruity and/or Candy Apple soon.
How about you? Have you given in to the temptation and purchased any of the Colorburst Range yet?

Bourjois Paris at Boots
Once again, I found myself wandering along the colorful aisles of my local Boots store. I was looking for some sunscreen when I 'accidentally' spotted a Bourjois Paris fixture at the end of one of the aisles. The colors they displayed were so pretty that I couldn't help but pick some up!
I have been looking for a nice bronze-y peach eyeshadow for the summer and their Depuis No. 16 was the perfect excuse to add another eyeshadow to my ever expanding collection. As if the price (£6.49) wasn't already good enough for such a good quality product, Boots were actually offering 3 Bourjois Paris products for the price of 2, plus, a free pair of sunglasses complete with its little cute pink pouch! I ended up buying a shimmering opaque white eyeshadow,Light No. 3, which I think is perfect for highlighting and a 3D Effet Lip Gloss.
Bargain!

June Glossybox!
June 2012 Glossybox |
After an anxious month, my June Glossybox finally arrived last week!
I started my subscription with Glossybox on February and in my honest opinion this is one of the best ones I have recieved so far. It came in another cute baby pink box, with the products wrapped in a black tissue paper, embellished with a pink ribbon and topped with a glossybox sticker. After a careful unpacking, to not ruin the pretty packaging, I was greeted by a chic card detailing the products that came with my box.
I was totally surprised to see a Dermalogica mini kit! I have been wanting to try products from Dermalogica for a while now but I couldn't find a place near me that stock them. I have used this ever since I recieved the box and I'm loving it! A full review of the kit will be up as soon as I use them all up (so I can see the full effect).
In addition, I also recieved a face brush - Glossybox own brand, Yves Rocher Ultra Volume Sexy Pulp Mascara (a great addition to my travel makeup kit!), Vichy Dermablend Stick sample swatches and BM Beauty Bronzer powder. I can't wait to try them all!
NB: This box was purchased by me for my personal use. Review freely given for this blog.
